Taking Back Sunday promises “Louder Now, Part Two” DVD for November

Taking Back Sunday has announced that they will be releasing a special “value priced” DVD titled Louder Now: Part Two. The DVD will include a CD with live tracks and B-Sides from the album as well.

As far as other details, the band explained:

There will be behind the scenes footage, band commentary, previously unreleased live videos, the video for Twenty-Twenty Surgery that was made for Europe, bounus features including the “Making Of” for the Video of Liar and more…

Parttwo is meant to be the companion piece for Partone. The reason we did it this way was because the DVD was always meant to chronicle the Louder Now album cycle and since you have to stop filming to edit, package and release a DVD, we wanted to find a way to continue the process. Doing it in two parts seemed to make the most sense. There is no Partthree. That we know of at least.

The band released Louder Now in 2006.

Tim Mulley leaves the Static Age

The Static Age have announced that they are parting ways with drummer Tim Mulley. The band hasn’t said exactly what is responsible for the parting of ways, but say that it is amicable. The Static Age have released a statement regarding Mulley’s departure.

The Static Age has parted ways with Tim Mulley. We wish him well. It’s most certainly in the best interests of The Static Age overall, and is something that’s needed to happen. It’s been fun having him on board since last year, but it’s time to move on. The core of the band remains, as always, the same — so The Static Age remains unchanged.

The band has no plans to cancel upcoming touring plans with Tiger Army in support of their 2006 release Blank Screens

Beastie Boys unveil more plans for vocal version of “The Mix-Up”, next album

A few months after the surprising release of a purely instrumental album from Beastie Boys, the band has begun working on a new version of the album, but Ad Rock, Mike D and MCA won’t be the ones singing. The band is looking for a variety of different vocalists to contribute to the new version of the album including M.I.A., Lily Allen and Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker,

But adding vocals is not all the band has planned for the record, the group is also hoping to provide a “visual” version of the record and cutting together performances and other details to make a full length feature version of the record. Following the completion of this work, the band is planning to returning to the studio at the end of this month to begin work on their next album.

Invisible Children, Fall Out Boy discuss new video set in Uganda

The irrepressible James Montgomery at MTV.com recently spoke with the charity Invisible Children as well as Fall Out Boy’a Pete Wentz about their recent video for “I’m Like a Lawyer With The Way I’m Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)”.

Pete noted:

Originally when we came here, we had a plan. [The video] was going to be shot documentary-style. We were gonna shoot it as FOB coming here and interacting, But we decided that this treatment seemed more dangerous and compelling. I mean, have you ever seen a love story between Ugandan people — especially with a rock band — on ‘TRL’?

The plan is to show that and then emphasize the idea that if we sent one senior policy adviser from the U.S. [to Uganda] that there’s greater potential to end the war [now] than ever — but for whatever reason, we’re just not committed to do that, Everyone’s been focusing so much attention on our band lately — and so many times, it’s the wrong kind of attention — [but] it’s all right if the cameras follow us to Africa.”

Invisible Children co-founder Bobby Bailey adds:

I think it’ll connect to a lot of people. From the moment we arrived here, the kids here were telling us, ‘Please tell our story. And especially let America know about our story because they have a voice in the world, and they can help end this thing.’

The video is notable since it was shot during the band’s recent trip to Uganda in partnership with non-profit organization Invisible Children. The band visited the country to bring awareness to the plight of displaced children in the Central African nation, which for more than two decades has been suffering from a bloody civil war.
