The Valley Arena: “Perfume has Expired”

The Valley Arena has posted the first new from their upcoming full length for Anodyne Records. The album is titled sesso.vita and is due out October 23, 2007. It is the follow-up to Take Comfort In Strangers which was released in 2005 on Geoff Rickey of Thursday’s Astro-Magnetics.

Dead Kennedys to release greatest hits compilation

Dead Kennedys Dead Kennedys have announced plans to release a new greatest hits package complete with a title designed just for the coming detractors. The record is titled Milking the Sacred Cow and is due out October 09, 2007.

The band has compiled tracks including “Kill The Poor” and “Viva Las Vegas” as well as two live tracks. making for only twelve songs in all.

Sixer bassist suffers stroke

Richmond, VA punk and roll group Sixer has been forced to cancel their current nationwide tour. Bassist Casey Martin suffered a stroke and has been hospitalized. He will be flying back to Richmond tomorrow, where he will rest for a month before further analysis.

To assist with heavy medical bills he has assessed through the ordeal, a benefit fund has been set-up to assist. You can get more information here: Casey Fund.

A Wilhelm Scream: “5 to 9”

A Wilhelm Scream have officially released the first video from their new album online. The video originally surfaced for a brief period in March of this year with a pre-mastered version of the song. The new video uses the album version of the track from their upcoming Nitro Records release, Career Suicide.

Nine Inch Nails: “Steal away, and give it to your friends”

In case some of you didn’t get the message from his previous actions, Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor came out at a recent show complaining again about what he calls the “greed” of record companies. He asked the audience if prices for his band’s album were too high and when they replied, he said:

Steal it. Steal away and steal some more. Steal it and then give to your friends.Keep on stealing.

Reznor has been at the forefront of digital distribution online, making not just singles from his album available but high quality GarageBand-compatible files to encourage remixing. He then took his favorite remixes and made them available on file sharing networks using BitTorrent.

Agnostic Front plans new seven-inch, full length for fall

Long-running hardcore band Agnostic Front has announced details on some upcoming releases. Due out first is a new seven-inch to be released through Bridge Nine. The record is titled For My Family and is due out September 25, 2007. (artwork here) It will include three new songs, two from their upcoming full length and one seven-inch exclusive song.

The seven-inch precedes the band’s upcoming full length, Warriors which is set for a release this fall via Nuclear Blast Records. It is the follow-up to Another Voice which was released in 2005.
