Angels and Airwaves post artwork

Angels and Airwaves has unveiled the cover art for their upcoming album. The project also recently revealed plans to produce a special documentary titled Start the Machine as well as promising a short film for their recently unveiled new single, “Everything’s Magic.”

Both are promised on the same day as the band’s upcoming album. The record is titled I-Empire and is due out October 23, 2007. It is the follow-up to We Don’t Need to Whisper which was released in 2006.

Spitalfield (1998-2007)

SpitalfieldChicago, Illinois’ Spitalfield has announced their breakup.

The message came via a MySpace blog posting as well as bulletin. While the band were vague about their reasoning, they did say, “This choice has been one of the hardest things any of us have ever gone through, as the decision has absolutely nothing to do with a lack of passion for making music together or love for each other.

The band has also unveiled some of the dates for their final tour. Joining them for a good majority of it will be Ludo, the Graduate and lablemates the Forecast.

Over the course of their existence, the band released four full-lengths, the last three of which came via Victory Records: 2001’s Faster Crashes Harder (Sinister), 2003’s Remember Right Now, 2005’s Stop Doing Bad Things and last year’s final effort, Better Than Knowing Where You Are. Their discography also included a split 12″ in 2000 with Don’t Worry About It (Walk in Cold) and 2002’s Cloak & Dagger Club EP (Sinister).

Druglords of the Avenues: “Where Are You Going?”

Oakland’s Druglords of the Avenues keep trickling out new tracks from their debut album. The band, which features Swingin’ Utter Johnny Bonnel on vocals, has posted a mix of “Where Are You Going” on their MySpace page.

The band has not given a firm release date for their album saying “this is a DIY release [so] it’s at our leisure to complete and therefore taking a bit longer than a professional release with due dates and such.”

Motion City Soundtrack: “This is for Real”

Motion City Soundtrack have posted a new video from their upcoming album. The record is titled Even If It Kills Me and is due out September 18, 2007. It is the follow-up to Commit This To Memory which was released in 2005.

The band will soon be embarking on a headlining tour in support of the record.

Tours: Maritime to support Jimmy Eat World

Maritime has been tapped to support Jimmy Eat World on a good chunk of their upcoming tour. The band, which includes members of Promise Ring and Cap’n Jazz, is gearing up for the release of their new record. It is titled Heresy and the Hotel Choir and is due out October 16, 2007.The band’s previous album, We, The Vehicles was released in 2006, to critical acclaim.

The headliners are also gearing up for a new album release, Chase This Light is due out the same day, October 16, 2007.

Lemuria: “Get Some Sleep”; East Coast tour

Lemuria has posted another new track from their upcoming Asian Man debut Get Better. You can hear “Get Some Sleep” at the band’s MySpace page.

The band is headed overseas with Ringers this week. Check out the dates here. After they get back they’ll have one day of rest before packing up the van and heading down to ye olde Festen 6.
