The Sound Of Animals Fighting According to a statement on their myspace page, The Sound Of Animals Fighting will be releasing their next album on Epitaph. The band, which includes members of Rx Bandits, Circa Survive and Finch released material on Equal Vision.

They add:

This third record coming out on Epitaph simply gives us a chance to reach new channels and new faces, which, ultimately, will work in everyone’s favor, as you and we continue to grow, while simultaneously maintaining the independent ethics so important to us. Thank you for your ongoing support, and, as always, believe nothing you hear unless it comes straight from us.

The band’s last release was the critically acclaimed We Must Become the Change We Want to See DVD and the Tiger & the Duke reissue.

Rivers Cuomo of Weezer preps new demo/solo album for December release

Rivers Cuomo, main songwriter behind Weezer is reportedly preparing a new compilation of demos spanning 1992-2007 for release this Christmas. The record is titled Alone – The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo and is due out December 11, 2007.

Rivers also touches on the much derided rumours that he was preparing a book of his memoirs. He notes that he’s looking at two to three years for the book to completed and is currently writing and researching. The researching suggests that this may not be memoirs since he’s not likely to need to research his own life.

Finally, he makes brief mention of Weezer’s sixth album saying only: “Not to mention the Weezer developments, which are also extremely great.

NOFX: “Lori Meyes (Sans Banter)”

NOFX has posted the first real taste of their upcoming live record, They’ve Actually Gotten Worse Live. The second live record, which is a followup to 1995’s I Hear They Suck Live will hit the streets November 20, 2007 on CD/2XLP.

The album is culled from three nights of talking mixed with the occasional song at Slim’s in San Francisco and will not include any material from Suck Live but will include new versions of old songs and rare tracks. They released Wolves in Wolves’ Clothing in 2006.

Aiden produces short satirical Western film

Aiden has assembled a new 10 minute short film titled 8 Duders With 6 Shooters. The film isn’t a music video but a miniature Western featuring members of the band and their friends.

Plus, if you’ve ever wanted to see the members of Aiden kick each other’s asses to retro-80s techno in cowboy uniforms, you’re in luck. There is also wide use of the word “reckon.”

Nada Surf: “See These Bones”

Nada Surf has posted the first song from their upcoming sophomore release for Barsuk. The record is titled Lucky and is due out February 05, 2008. It is the follow-up to The Weight Is A Gift which was released in 2005.

The band recently discussed the album with Billboard saying:

There is some hard rock, almost early ’80s British metal for a couple of minutes. I don’t even know if the record is going in a positive direction or a vitriolic direction. I think it’s getting weirder. But then some songs sound like Tom Petty, which is a great thing if it works and a bummer if it doesn’t.

Coheed and Cambria post latest weird video

Coheed and Cambria have posted the third in their series of strange videos teasing their highly anticipated new full length. The record is titled Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Vol. 2: No World For Tomorrow and is due out October 23, 2007. It is the follow-up to Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Vol. 1: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness which was released in 2005 and had a slightly longer title.
