Video of the Week: Countdown to the Fest 6: Young Livers
This week, I hand off my normal videographer/editing duties to the fine folks at No Idea Records for a video from Young Livers. Breaking from the weekly standard set of posting videos from last year’s Fest 5, this video was filmed last month, but in Gainesville, FL, so eh, close enough.
The included clip features the song “The Small Hours”, from the band’s new album The New Drop Era.

Cancer Bats set to record
Toronto’s Cancer Bats have posted an update on the recording progress for their follow-up to 2006’s Birthing the Giant. Vocalist Liam Cormier says
After many long hours in a sweaty room with no windows, we’ve managed to bang out a bakers dozen of total rippers! We’re getting super stoked to let this mother loose! This week we go in to the studio to start demos and make sure all the songs don’t suck. Fingers crossed!
In the meantime the band is contributing songs for a split 7″ with This is Hell, which is due this fall.

Paramore: “crushcrushcrush”
Paramore has released the latest video from their breakthrough 2007 full length, Riot!. The video is available to Americans only, particularly since Americans are better than other people, particularly those Canadian hosers with their igloos and cross-dressing lumberjacks. They should be watching Corner Gas or something anyway. That’s what their tax dollars pay for.
You can find the video here.
