Cock Sparrer’s Mickey Beaufoy comments on new album

Cock Sparrer guitarist Mickey Beaufoy wrote in with a response to the Punknews community’s discussion of the band’s new record Here We Stand. Here’s what he had to say:

Great to see that your contributors are so positive about the news that we have a new Album called “Here we Stand” being released later this month – with a planned US release later in the year. I also wanted to assure fans that the song “Spirit of 76” on the new Sparrer album is not another song about the “good old days” as a couple of people have suggested, but about how the events of that summer changed music forever and celebrates how today’s punk and Oi music, including our new album, continues that proud tradition:. “Back to basics, guitar picks, drum sticks, Spirit of 76”.

The new studio album arrives soon in the UK via Captain Oi! Records. The 14 track album will arrive via CD and vinyl, accompanied by a limited edition 7″ single. The release is the band’s first proper full length since 1997’s Bitzcore released Two Monkeys. They’ll celebrate the release with an upcoming gig at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall in England on November 3rd. That show will also feature Demob, Goldblade, Deadline, UK Subs, and Slaughter and the Dogs. Furthermore the band will appear at the Rebellion Festival in Vienna next April.
