Video of the Week: Punknews Feature: CMJ to The Fest 6 (Part 2)

When we left off from the start of our documented story of Punknews making its way down the east coast from CMJ in NYC to the Fest 6 in Gainesville, FL, I had just parted ways with Fake Problems. I returned to my home of Richmond, VA to meet up with fellow ‘Org editor and now Canadian defect Ben for two days with the Lawrence Arms/Sundowner/Falcon/American Steel road show, and the 10 hour roadtrip to Gainesville, FL.

Bosstones reveal details for “Medium Rare”

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have revealed the artwork and track listing for their upcoming rarities collection. Besides rarities, the band recorded three new songs and recently hit the studio with their own bassist Joe Gittleman acting as producer. The record is titled Medium Rare and is due out December 18, 2007.

Though the band’s last studio record, A Jackknife To A Swan, was released on SideOneDummy, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones recently announced b-sides and rarities collection will be released on their own Big Rig Records.

The label was formed by the band when they first signed to Mercury Records as an outlet for the vinyl versions of their albums. The major label pressed CDs and cassettes but allowed the band to self-press the vinyl under the imprint. For this collection, the band will apparently be resurrecting the imprint.

AFI posts progress update on next album, immediate plans

AFI have posted an update on some of their future plans, as well as the status of their follow up to Decemberunderground. Guitarist Jade Puget explained:

This is always my favorite time of the whole process because you don’t really know what the next album is going to sound like. Well, actually, Davey and I spent the last 3 days locked in a hotel room writing and we already have 4 new songs.I have tons of material written so I’m raring to go.

As you probably already know, we’re putting out an EP soon too, of unreleased songs from the last 2 albums. We’re working on the artwork for that as we speak. So that’s about it for now, we’ll be hard at work on the new album, any questions?
