The first round of artists have been announced for the 2008 edition of Punk Spring, a popular annual Japanese festival set to take place in April of 2008.

To date, organizers have confirmed appearances from Rancid, Pennywise, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Angels & Airwaves, Buzzcocks, Flogging Molly, Bowling for Soup, Plain White T’s, Gallows, All Time Low, Driving East, From Autumn to Ashes, Eleventyseven and Powerspace. More confirmations are expected in the coming weeks.

This year’s Bamboozle will take place on May 3rd and 4th at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ. The first slate of bands for the annual event has been announced, with this year’s line up to include Less Than Jake, I Am The Avalanche, Chiodos, Finch, the Starting Line, Paramore, Mindless Self Indulgence, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Forever The Sickest Kids and Jack’s Mannequin. Tickets for the two day event go on sale in the next few weeks, with some passes available now. Check the event’s website for details.

The Bamboozle expects to host 100 bands this year spread over 10 stages.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have confirmed more openers for their much anticipated Hometown Throwdown series of reunion gigs this December. As previously reported the band will be joined on the 26th by the Bouncing Souls and Everybody Out. We now know that the 28th will feature the Shods and the Loved Ones and the 30th will feature fellow 3rd wavers the Pietasters. Guests appearing at the other dates are still to be announced.

Cleveland, OH act Echoes of Harper’s Ferry have posted a song from their upcoming split 7″ with Sleeper Horse. The song is called “Chile 9/11/73 and it can be streamed at their MySpace page. Both bands are contributing 2 songs to the 7″ and it will come with a card allowing the owner to download the music from the internet, there is a chance it will have some non vinyl bonus songs as well. The 7″ will be released by Ownlife Records late 2007 or early 2008.

The Singularity has posted a new track, “Bled To Death”, from their upcoming full length which slated to be done and out in 2008. They have also posted some “homestyle” music videos for two of their new tracks. You can check it all out at their MySpace page.

Hex Machine is releasing Run To Earth, a 12″ EP on and has posted songs on their MySpace page. The band hails from RVA and is described as being similar to “the Jesus Lizard, Hammerhead, The Melvins, VAZ, and some Shellac” and features members of bands like Sliang Laos, Human Thurma, Tulsa Drone, Farquhar, and ((HRM)).
