The Lawrence Arms: “Boatless Booze Cruise (BBC Session)”

The Lawrence Arms have posted their acoustic rendition of “Boatless Booze Cruise” recorded when they appeared on BBC Radio two weeks ago. The original track comes from their 2002 album, Apathy and Exhaustion.

You can check it out on their myspace page.

While you’re there, you can check out a live recording of “Smokestacks” from the band’s 12th show back in 1999. Just imagine, they didn’t even know if the world was going to end because of the Y2K bug. Music is exactly like a time machine, except without the ability to manipulate the stock market or make good bets on baseball games.

The Color Fred, the Wonder Years, Cornish Gay Men named some of the Worst Band Names of ’07

Some familiar names have popped up in the Onion AV Club‘s 2007 “Worst Band Names” list. The “Just Plain Bad” category includes the Color Fred, the “Using the Title to Something Else” has the Wonder Years and the Graduate, while With Blood Comes Cleansing falls into the “We’re Fucking Heavy, Bro” slot and I Would Set Myself On Fire For You is “EMOOOOOO” apparently. Somehow, our friends The Cornish Gay Men also made it on the list.

Other bands you may recognize include Secret Lives Of The Freemasons, I Would Set Myself On Fire For You , The Graduate and Job for a Cowboy.

You can check it out here.

My favorite? “Count Dracula’s Weed Smuggling Jam Engine,” those guys have to rock. What’s yours?
