Blacklisted have announced the release of their upcoming full length. The record is titled Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God and is due out April 01, 2008. The album follows …The Beat Goes On which was released in 2005.
Along with the release news, the band has launched a new player featuring a new track from the record.
Normally, we wouldn’t point out (yet another) eBay auction, but both the auctioneer and the material in question will make this one hard to pass up, particularly for connoisseurs of early hardcore and punk. Jeff Nelson, former drummer of Minor Threat and co-owner for Dischord Records has raided his house and put together a number of auctions of rare and unique punk/hardcore memorabilia.
Among the prizes are rare flyers/handbills from the 70s and 80s featuring bands like Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat and more. The vinyl side is also well represented with rare 7-inches and test presses from Dischord acts as well as bands like The Vibrators, TSOL, Husker Du and more.
Bridge Nine hardcore act Ambitions has announced plans to auction off test pressings from their two releases for the label. The proceeds from the auction will go to The Global Fund.
The benefit is being undertaken in memory of guitarist Jake Woodruff’s uncle who lost his fight with AIDS after more than two decades. The fund is a non-profit agency fighting AIDS, turbercolosis and malaria.
Newmarket, Ontario ska act The Expos, have begun recording their next album for Stomp. They noted:
Just letting everyone know we just spent 3 major days recording at Chemical Sound, seriously sweet guys (big thanks to Dean and Jay), we had a lot of fun. They really know their stuff and the new album is well on the way. Still have lots to do, but shit’s coming together. Producing this time around is none other than Mitch Girio once again. So hopefully we can crunch out something pretty alright.
