The Matches: “Wake The Sun”
The Matches have posted the first song and album details from their upcoming full length. The record is titled A Band in Hope and is due out March 18, 2008. It is the follow-up to Decomposer which was released in 2006.
Like the previous album, the record includes contributions from a myriad of producers including Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Nick Hexum, Mark Hoppus (Blink-182), John Feldmann (Goldfinger), the Wizard Miles Hurwitz, Matt Radosevich, Mike Green, Paul Ruxton, John Paulsen and more.

Bullet for My Valentine commissions comic book series for new album
Bullet for My Valentine have asked celebrated indie comic book writer and illustrator Tom Manning to create a mini-comic book for every one of the 11 songs on the band’s new album. The record is titled Scream Aim Fire and is due out January 29, 2008.
Each book will be three-to-five pages in length and all are inspired by the lyrics of the songs on the new release. The first three (“Scream Aim Fire,” “Waking The Demon,” “Hearts Burst Into Fire”) will be available on January 29 in the PDF booklet of the iTunes deluxe version of the album. Ultimately, all 11 books will be available for viewing on a micro-site found here.

Sirius plans five day “Greatest Punk Songs” special
Sirius Satellite Radio has unveiled plans for a special five day punk special. According to the press release, the five days will feature “the greatest punk bands of all time playing the greatest punk songs of all time.”
Participants confirmed for the event include The Sex Pistols, The Misfits, The Dead Kennedys, The Circle Jerks, Bad Religion, Henry Rollins, NOFX, Dropkick Murphys and more. Along with the music, the band members will be discussing the music and behind-the-scenes details for the tracks selected.
The entire thing kicks off Monday January 28th beginning at 7 am ET through Friday February 1.

Norma Jean recruits Spitfire drummer
Norma Jean has added drummer Chris Raines of Spitfire to their lineup. The band explained:
As you guys know, we have been in the process of finding a new drummer. So the past couple of months or so we have been playing shows, and writing songs with one of our good, long-time friends playing drums. It’s been a great experience and we are so happy to officially welcome Chris Raines into the family. He’s an awesome dude, and you have heard him play if you listen to the band Spitfire. And if you haven’t heard them, you should check em out. They got some new songs up.
By the way, we have been working on new a new record. and it’s been going so well. We couldn’t be happier with how it’s coming along.
Norma Jean is working on the follow up to Redeemer. Spitfire is gearing up for the release of Cult Fiction on March 25, 2008.

Kingdom joins Eulogy Recordings
Eulogy has signed South Philadelphia vegan straight edge natives, Kingdom. The hardcore band will release their next album this summer, following up 2006’s self-titled EP (Goodbye Blue Skies) and a more recent 7″ on New Age.

Millencolin posts new song, artwork, album name
Millencolin have set a European release date, title and posted the first song from their upcoming album. The record is titled Machine 15 and is due out April 07, 2008. (artwork here)

The album is the follow up to 2005’s Kingwood. Since Kingwood, members of the band have been involved in other projects including Nikola Sarcevic’s solo project and Mathias working on Franky Lee.
