Marc Orrell Leaves Dropkick Murphys

Guitarist/accordionist Marc Orrell has reportedly left The Dropkick Murphys. Marc explained:

I am leaving the band. I’m very grateful for everything playing with DKM has brought me and I’m sad to be going but I feel like the time has come for me to try working on different styles of music and some of my own projects, I’m ready to spread my wings as they say.

I’m very anxious and excited to see where the road takes me. DKM are (of course) going to continue on and Tim Brennan will be taking my place playing guitar, Tim is one of the greatest musicians around and I know he’ll do an amazing job. I wish him and the band all the best for the future and thank all the guys so much for everything they’ve done for me and for giving me a chance to see the world and play in one of the best punk rock bands around. I

The band released The Meanest of Times in 2007.

Tours: Settlefish / Cut (UK)

Settlefish have announced some tour dates with fellow Italians, Cut. The tour is in support of their recently released full length. The record is titled Oh Dear! and was released in Europe on October 30, 2007.

Along with the tour news, the band has a new remix of their track “Summer Drops” and you can check that out on the Amari Night Members Myspace. Finally, the band is currently putting together a new video for “The Boy & The Light”. According to the band, shooting involves “weird plants, self-inflated perversions and crazy dreams

Detonate Records signs Heavy Hearted (Buried Alive, Polar Bear Club, Kid Gorgeous)

Rochester’s Heavy Hearted have signed to Detonate Records. The band includes former members of Buried Alive, Despair, Kid Gorgeous, Roses are Red and Polar Bear Club.

The band will make their debut with a eight-song album titled Overcast this Spring. In the interim, you can find some music on their myspace page.
