Glassjaw writing new album
In a detailed interview, Glassjaw revealed some details about their long-awaited follow up to 2002’s Worship and Tribute. According to the story:
Most of [the album] is written. We have 11 good songs – seven I love and four to six half-baked ideas we need to finish.
Guitarist Justin Beck is apparently writing, producing and engineering the album himself. No word on when the band will be recording or releasing the record.

Tours: Modern Life is War (Farewell Tour)
After announcing their break up last week, acclaimed hardcore band Modern Life Is War have begun announcing the dates for a farewell tour. The majority of dates are still being booked, but the general routing is available now.
The band leaves behind several full-lengths– 2003’s My Love, My Way, 2005’s Witness and most recently, their Equal Vision debut, 2007’s Midnight in America.

Tours: Bad Religion extend House of Blues tour
Bad Religion have announced even more shows for their March tour of California and Nevada. The latest additions include three days in Anaheim. The band will be playing several-night residences at House of Blues venues in several Californian town as well as Las Vegas.
The veteran band is supporting New Maps of Hell. Recent reports suggested the band may have limited touring plans in the new year due to Academic commitments by vocalist and Life Sciences professor Greg Graffin at UCLA.

Rage Against The Machine, Against Me!, Tom Waits, No Use on “Body of War” soundtrack
A number of artists have contributed music to the upcoming soundtrack for Body of War, a new feature documentary about Iraq war vet Tomas Young. Tomas was in Iraq for less than a week before he was shot and paralyzed. He’s personally selected all of the tracks on the double CD comp which includes songs by the Bouncing Souls, No Use For A Name, Bright Eyes, Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against The Machine, Against Me!, Neil Young, Bad Religion, Laura Cantrell, and the Nightwatchman (aka Tom Morello) among others.

Alkaline Trio post studio updates
Alkaline Trio have posted some new studio videos discussing the recording of their upcoming record and debut for Sony/BMG.
In the time since their previous record the band signed to V2 Music, which shortly afterwards was shutdown, landing the act at major label Epic Records (which falls under the Sony-BMG umbrella). In the past few years the popular act released a rarities and b-sides compilation via Vagrant titled Remains and frontman Matt Skiba performed in the duo Heavens. A reissue of the Trio’s fan-favourite 1998 full length Goddamnit is due this March via Asian Man Records.

Against Me! raises $18,000 for Harvest of Hope; posts “Baby I’m an Anarchist (Acoustic)”
According to a report from their label, Against Me! has raised $18,000 for Harvest of Hope, the charity for whom they have performed numerous benefits over the past year.
The donation will enable Harvest of Hope to provide additional emergency and educational aid to migrant farmworkers and families across the country. Two concerts were held at Common Grounds in the band’s hometown of Gainesville, Florida (home also of Harvest of Hope), one at the Metro in Chicago, the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia and Juanita’s in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Since 1997, Harvest of Hope has distributed more than $614,000 in emergency and educational financial aid to migrant field workers and their families for car repairs due to breakdowns, housing, utilities, bus tickets, medical services, food, clothing, funeral expenses and scholarships for children of migrant farmworkers attending
Speaking of acoustic performances, the band has released their live performance of “Baby I’m an Anarchist.”

Deathwish Inc. has posted an audio player featuring two new tracks from Blacklisted‘s forthcoming full-length Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God.
