Modern Life is War (2002-2008)
Beloved Marshalltown, Iowa hardcore act Modern Life Is War has announced their break-up:
Modern Life Is War will be doing one final tour from March 29th to April 26th. Our last show ever will be April 26th in Marshalltown, Iowa. There is no disaster or dramatic situation behind the break-up. All past and current members of the band are still good friends and there is no bad blood. We just feel like it’s the right time and would rather end things on our own terms than let our band become a ghost of what it was in the beginning or to be ripped apart by outside forces…
The band leaves behind several full-lengths– 2003’s My Love, My Way, 2005’s Witness and most recently, their Equal Vision debut, 2007’s Midnight in America.

Big D & The Kids Table working on DVD
Big D and the Kids Table are currently hard at work on their DVD titled Built Up From Nothing. Sean P. Rogan commented on their progress earlier in the weekend:
Dave and I are back in Knoxville, TN and have been editing non-stop, at least 12 hours a day for the past week! We’re working on the Big D DVD, “Built Up From Nothing”. We know that it’s taken a long time, but we have over 120 mini DV tapes and thousands of photographs that we’ve been collecting over the past 12 years. This will be well worth the wait…I promise.
It takes so long because we keep touring and writing records in between editing trips to Tennessee. Our goal is to have it finished by Monday night, then we still have to color correct everything, get the audio mastered, do the artwork and get them pressed. BUT, the end is in near. It sums up everything from 1996 to to entering the studio for Strictly Rude. Crazy, huh?
The band plans to have a premiere at a theatre in their hometown of Boston once the film is complete.
Big D will soon hit the road with the Dropkick Murphys. Following that they’ll tour the UK this May with Sonic Boom Six and Random Hand. The band is supporting their latest full length Strictly Rude.

The documentary Body Of War told his story to much recent acclaim. Bad Religion is included in the set along with Bright Eyes, Neil Young, Serj Tankian, the Nightwatchman, and Eddie Vedder among others. The compilation will be released on March 18th.
