Cleverly titled the AP Podcast, the series focuses on long-form interviews with bands and other music-industry veterans with much of the discussion focusing around the state of the music industry today. Phantom Planet: “Raise the Dead”
Fueled by Ramen act Phantom Planet have posted a full album stream of their debut for the label. The record is titled Raise the Dead and it follows up 2004’s Epic released Phantom Planet. Aside from their recorded output, the band is notable for once featuring actor Jason Schwartzman on drums. The band’s song “California” was also the theme song for popular Fox television series The O.C..

A Voice Like Rhetoric, the Ignorant, Protestant
Pittsburgh’s A Voice Like Rhetoric has posted their new video for the song “Please Don’t Call Me A Mindless Philosophy” on their AbsolutePunk profile.
Los Angeles’ The Ignorant have signed with Northeast Records (the Briggs, the Psychotics, the Frankenburies). The band will hit the studio in May to record their debut album for the label, due this summer. Head to the band or label‘s MySpace page for details and tour dates.
Milwaukee’s Protestant have released their new full length The Hate The Hollow. The release is available as a black/red sunburst swirl vinyl limited to 1000 copies as well as CD. Labels Rust and Machine (USA), Halo of Flies (USA) and Rimbaud Records (Ire) have co-released the record.

Over It denies break up rumours
Over It has responded to the many rumours that they were splitting up. They said:
We wanted to keep over it as a punk band, and have freedom to write more pop songs with another project… RUNNER RUNNER. RR and OVERIT will always be writing songs, releasing music and performing so eveyone gets the best of both worlds! Seth is curently playing pro hockey and learning lots on the east coast! He sends his love to all of you…
The rumours mostly began when the band began posting material under the name Runner Runner.

Tours: Ryan’s Hope tour dates, finishing up free EP
Joliet, IL’s Ryan’s Hope are currently putting the finishing touches on a five song demo that they plan to release for free on the communications network known as “the Internets.” The band is set to hit the studio soon to complete the track “Bastard Epidemic” then once the new work is mixed it will hit the web. More info about the demo is available here. The release will follow up 2006’s Apocalypse in Increments.
The group is also heading out on tour for a good portion of the spring and summer, including shows with Strung Out, Infinite Missles and Project:Threeville.
