Video of the Week: Landmines

LandminesIn preparation for an upcoming tour, and debut LP release on Paper & Plastick, Richmond, VA’s Landmines recently played a hometown show to test the new material. I worked with the band for a DIY live music video (translation: they paid for my “services” in beer”) using a multi camcorder setup, something I’ve never done for my normal Video of the Week segment. Considering my inexperience, the final product didn’t come out too bad. You can judge for yourself and flame away below.

The featured track is titled “Shadows and Ashes” and will be on the band’s upcoming S/T record.

Endgame (2004-2008)

Bloomfield, NJ’s Endgame has broken up. The band posted the following message on their MySpace page:

We’ve had a lot of fun times and amazing experiences over the last 4 years but it’s time to move on and we are calling it a day. We really appreciate everyone who has supported us… we really were amazed at how many people actually bought our EP, came to our shows and sent us letters. Thank you so much!

The band just fell short of releasing a full-length in their four-year span as they managed two compilation appearances (2004’s Punk the Clock, 2008’s Wrong Side of the Trax Vol. 1) and four EPs: 2004 Demo (self-released); 2005’s Live on WFMU (self-released); 2006’s split with Movement (Think Tank); and 2008’s Distracted (Get Outta Town). The latter two received favorable reviews from our staff members.
