The Misfits, Mad Sin at Subculture Fest in Prague

The Misfits will headline the Subculture Fest in Prague, Czech Republic on August 2nd. The veteran band, currently a trio consisting of bassist Jerry Only backed by former Black Flag members Dez Cadena and Robo, will close out the event’s second night. The fest will also feature bands like Mad Sin, the Hotknives, Evil Conduct, Rico Rodriguez, Deadline, Los Fastidos, 999, the Astro Zombies, and many more. Rise Against records “Little Boxes” for Weeds TV show

Rise Against is the latest band to cover the 1962 Malvina Reynolds track, “Little Boxes.” Originally written as a critique of suburban life, the song has gained recent notoriety as the theme song for the pot-themed sitcom, Weeds.

Each episode features a different take on the song with previous artists including Elvis Costello, The Shins, Billy Bob Thornton, Linkin Park, Regina Spektor, Joan Baez, and Death Cab For Cutie. The track will open a forthcoming episode of the series but is also available for streaming or purchase on iTunes.

The Fest 7 announced

While the lineup is still forthcoming, the organizers have confirmed the dates for Florida’s venerable Fest. The seventh edition will be taking place Halloween weekend from October 31st through November 2nd in Gainesville, Florida.

Last year’s edition included Naked Raygun, Planes Mistaken for Stars, The Methadones, Army of Ponch, Riverboat Gamblers, Radon, Avail, Dillinger Four, The Copyrights, Ruiner, Shook Ones, Seaweed, Small Brown Bike, The Ergs and many, many more.
