Rolling Stone tears apart Pete Wentz’s new TV show

Rolling Stone has a fairly scathing look at Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy‘s latest endeavour, his TV show FNMTV. The magazine described the program as “a celebration of awkwardness than the art of lip synching and cheesy acting.”

Among the crimes committed by the show are “Wentz’s repeated references to his wife and (impending) kid” and a crowd that finds Blink-182 more important than The Who. After all, how could “Baba O’Riley” compare to “What’s My Age Again?”

You can check out the review here.

Clips from the show are available here.

Alkaline Trio unveils custom Nike shoes

The Heart and Sole Air Zoom Cush and a limited run of messenger bags will be released June 27th exclusively at Jacks Retail Shop in Huntington Beach. A nationwide release is planned for July 11th. The band will also be releasing a new record titled Agony and Irony on July 01, 2008

Matt Skiba commented:

We chose red and black as the main colors to reflect our Chicago roots and pay homage to the Bulls. We are huge fans. I’m also into sneakers, so seeing the swoosh and our logo on one product is unbelievable. The shoe looks amazing and provides some insight into who we are.

Custom design elements include reflective details and bike-tread inspired graphics, correlating to the band’s formative years in Chicago where the members met while working as bike messengers. Distressed materials translate the punk ethos, and the Alkaline Trio logo is featured on the heel cup. The Heart and Sole Cush is constructed of all synthetics, supporting select band members who are vegetarian.
