F*cked Up finish album, talk label (maybe), release date (maybe), summer tours (really)

Fucked Up Toronto punks and music industry mischief makers Fucked Up recently announced the completion of their new album, entitled The Chemistry of Common Life, on their blog. Though their post did not specify a label or a release date, guitarist 10,000 Marbles (Mike Haliechuk) stated in a recent interview with Don’t Panic Magazine that the record will be released sometime in October on Matador Records.

The band also announced most of their summer tour plans. The band will spend the majority of the summer months in Europe though they did promise some yet-to-be-determined U.S West Coast dates. The band’s last output was the David Christmas 7″.

Tours: Constantines / Ladyhawk

Toronto’s Constantines and Vancouver’s Ladyhawk are headed out on the road, traveling south into the United States in support of their respective new full lengths Kensington Heights and Shots. The Constantines will also appear at a handful of festivals over the summer, playing Calgary’s Virgin Festival with Face to Face and the New Pornographers, Dublin’s Electric Picnic with the Sex Pistols and My Bloody Valentine, then Toronto’s V-Fest with the Foo Fighters and Spiritualized.

Born To Lose signs to Altercation, new record in September

Texas punk band Born to Lose has signed to Altercation Records. The band will follow up their 2006 Sailor’s Grave released album Sweet Misery this July. The new record is titled Saints Gone Wrong and will hit stores in the US this September.

Born To Lose will head to Europe this July for a two month tour.

New Found Glory recording updates

Producer Mark Hoppus has posted some updates on progress towards the next full length from New Found Glory:

Here in the studio with New Found Glory. Two weeks into it now. finished all the drums in a few days, and now getting into the main rhythm guitars. The record is coming together really well. we’re all stoked. the songs they wrote are great. i think everyone will be pleased. Photos and updates as soon as I stop being lazy.

New Found Glory parted ways with their major label last year. Since then, they’ve released the Tip of the Iceberg / Takin’ It Ova! EPs on Bridge 9 Records. No word yet on who will be releasing the full length.

Cobra Skulls plan new 7-inch EP

Red Scare act Cobra Skulls have a new EP due out this summer. The label made the announcement:

Cobra Skulls have finished up a new 7″ EP and we at Red Scare are busting tail to get it out to the RS faithful. Look for them to have it on tour this Summer and it’ll also be available online ASAP. 3 new songs. As of now, it’s the “Never Be A Machine” single, and those reptilians will be out playing shows to weirdos like us for the remainder of the year, so be warned. Tours include the West Coast, Europe, and all things in between.

In related news, the label is hinting at a Red Scare tour in Canada this August with Teenage Bottlerocket, Riptides, and The Sidekicks. More on that as it comes in.
