Fucked Up have released a new track from their upcoming debut for Matador. The record is titled The Chemistry Of Common Life and is due out October 07, 2008. The track itself will also be released as a 7-inch, and feature two alternate takes of the song. The song features backing vocals by Cassie Ramone, Frankie Rose and Kickball Katy.

TV on the Radio have announced a two week tour set for Frosh week of this fall. The bnad will be hitting venues in the US as well as three shows in Canada. They released Return to Cookie Mountain [U.S.] in 2006.
Houston’s Papermoons are heading out on a summer tour in support of their new full-length New Tales. Set to be released on Team Science Records, the album will be available on CD with limited edition packaging. Papermoons released a self-titled seven-inch[7 inch] last year.
Lower Definition have posted a stream of their new album. The record is titled The Greatest of All Lost Arts and is due out August 15, 2008.

After the early leak of the 2008 Polaris Music Prize long list, it has been announced that the Weakerthans and Stars have been shortlisted for the prize.
The full list of nominations includes: The Weakerthans’s Reunion Show, Stars’s In Our Bedroom After the War, Basia Bulat- Oh, My Darling, Shad’s The Old Prince, Plants and Animals’s Parc Avenue, Two Hours Traffic’s Little Jabs, Kathleen Edwards’s Asking for Flowers, Caribou’s Andorra, Black Mountain’s In The Future and Holy Fuck’s LP
The Polaris Music prize is given out yearly and in awarded to a Canadian album strictly for artistic merrit. Record sales are not taken into account. The prize is $20,000 and will awarded in September, 2008 in Toronto. Past winners include Final Fantasy and Patrick Watson.
