Ferret Music has signed Michigan’s Hellmouth. The label compares the band to acts like Celtic Frost, Black Flag, Venom, Black Sabbath and Disfear. Tours: Billy Bragg (US East Coast)
Legendary folk / punk singer songwriter Billy Bragg will hit the road in the US this October. The band band will play a dozen shows along the eastern seaboard in support of his new full length Mr. Love and Justice.
A studio performance from Billy was recently featured in Spinner’s new Interface podcast. In it he sings songs from the new release and discusses politics and social issues in the UK. You can check it out here.

Propagandhi “hard at work” on new record
It’s not a very informative update but I doubt many of you will mind. Todd Kowalski of Winnipeg’s Propagandhi posted a brief update on the band’s next record:
We are very, very hard at work on writing songs for our new record. It is going extremely well. We are literally spending almost every moment we are awake working on them. We are having a blast!! Time is the only enemy!!! Yikes!!!!!!
The band previously announced plans to hit the studio in October to record the follow up to 2005’s Potemkin City Limits.

Propagandi “hard at work” on new record

Murder By Death / William Elliott Whitmore tour and split 7″
Bloomington, Indiana’s Murder By Death has announced a fall headlining tour. The band will perform several festival dates leading up to a 28 date trek kicking off on October 22nd. The band will be joined on the road by William Elliott Whitmore and J Roddy Walston and The Business (not The Business).
Murder By Death has also announced a new 7″ series that will feature the band trading cover songs with a variety of other acts. The first entry in the series will feature their tour mate William Elliott Whitmore and should be available for the tour.
The band is supporting their 2008 Vagrant released full length Red of Tooth and Claw.

Sick Of It All, Murphy’s Law, Subzero to perform benefit in NYC
On September 27th Sick Of It All, Cro-Mags (Jam), Murphy’s Law, Maximum Penalty, Subzero and many others will take part in a benefit show for two members of the NYC hardcore community. The show, at Brooklyn’s Studio B, will benefit Dr. Tom and Walter “Monsta” Ryan of Subzero and Merauder. You can find a flyer for the show here.

United Nations: “United Nations”
Supergroup United Nations are now streaming their debut full length online at MySpace. Head there to check out the 11 song collection. The project features Geoff Rickly from Thursday, Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw and Head Automatica, Chree from the Number 12 Looks Like You and Kiss It Goodbye’s Eric Cooper.

The Cure to release “4:13 Dream” in October
The Cure have revealed the title and release date for their long-awaited new studio album. The record is titled 4:13 Dream and is set for release on October 13, 2008. The band accompanied the announcement with minimalist artwork that may or may not be the art on the release. You can check it out here.
The release follows four singles and an upcoming EP. The band released new material on the 13th of every month leading up to the release of their new record. This included “The Only One” in May, “Freakshow” in June and “Sleep When I’m Dead” in July and “The Perfect Boy” in August. An EP of remixes titled Hypnagogic States will be released in September.
The record will be released by Suretone/Geffen and follows up 2004’s sThe Cure.

Aaron Lisi (ex-Hope Conspiracy) and Robert Ehrenbrand filling in with Red Tape Parade
Germany’s Red Tape Parade have announced that Aaron Lisi (ex-Hope Conspiracy) and Robert Ehrenbran will be filling in for guitarist Ule Gigl on the band’s upcoming European tour with the Casting Out. Uli will be unable to tour due to school. Lisi will play the September dates, with Ehrenbrand playing in October.
The band recently announced details on their upcoming debut album Ballads of The Flexible Bullet. The delayed record will now see a release on September 24th. It will feature 16 songs, one featuring Nathan Gray (ex-BoySetsFire) on guest-vocals, and is produced by Mike D from the Californian hardcore act Missing 23rd. The record will be released by Let It Burn Records (CD) and Fields Of Hope Records (Vinyl).

ALLorNOTHING, A Kid Named Thompson, Voodoo Youth
Hollister, CA’s ALLorNOTHING has signed with Ethos Records. The band is working on a new full length titled A City Built On Its Dead.
San Antonio, TX’s A Kid Named Thompson has returned from a week at Black Lodge Recording and have finished recording a new 4 song EP. The band worked with David Chutka and producer Ed Rose (Get Up Kids, Motion City Soundtrack, Limbeck). Ed is currently mixing the album. The band will be self-releasing the new EP on CD, vinyl and digitall at some point in the fall.
Two members of now defunct Chicago act The Skies We Built have returned with a new band dubbed Voodoo Youth. The band has two songs online at MySpace and are currently booking tour dates.

Interviews: Vinnie Fiorello (Less Than Jake)
Over 15 years deep into their career, Less Than Jake recently released GNV FLA, their seventh studio album, and the first self-released album under their new label, Sleep It Off Records. The band’s drummer and lyricist Vinnie Fiorello recently took some time to talk to Punknews interviewer Zack Shapiro about the writing process of the album and the liberating feeling of going back to DIY.

1917 releases Guns Up! DVD trailer
Haverhill, MA’s Guns Up! are preparing to release a DVD on December 9th via 1917 Records. The DVD features a full live set recorded on February 2nd, 2007 as well as interviews and tour footage.
The label has released a brief trailer featuring footage from the show. .

Fat to release new Dead To Me EP in October
Fat Wreck Chords has posted some detail on Dead To Me‘s upcoming EP. The 5 song collection will be titled Little Brother and will be available on October 28th as a CD and 12″ EP.
