Deftones update on bassist, ask you to help homeless in his honor

After last weeks report that Deftones bassist Chi Cheng is in a coma in a San Jose hospital after a car accident in Santa Clara last Monday, the band has posted further update:

The critical 72 hours has passed and his condition is stable. His doc is expecting a recovery but want to continue to sedate him and keep him quiet, he was trying to fight even in his coma.

In the past when Chi was not on tour he would gather a few instruments together once a week and meet the homeless kids in the park to play music with them. Today we ask you to give a homeless person a blanket, some warm clothes or some food. If you don’t see a homeless person, reach out to a child near or far, and show some kindness to them.

CPC Gangbangs (2003-2008)

Montreal’s CPC Gangbands have called it quits. Vocalist Roy ‚ÄúChoyce‚Äù Vucino commented:

A few years back i started the Gangbangs knowing is gonna be a pretty rough and tumble ride. We brought a bit of chaos and lots of rock ‘n’ roll wherever we went and had a blast doing so. Following the departure of key members and the arrest of another in the USA it has become impossible for us to continue. The core of the band will continue to record and push the ideals of the band under the moniker RED MASS

You fan find more details on Red Mass as MySpace. Bassist Tommy Kitsos has most recently been performing as part of John Reis’ Night Marchers. Other CPC members have performed or recorded with acts such as the Cockroaches, Chocolat, les Enfants Sauvages, PiPi, Mark Sultan, Bestalita and Ghost Limbs.
