Kevin Lyman talks Warped 2009: longer sets, less stages

Warped Tour‘s Kevin Lyman recently spoke to Tom Rowles of NotMTV about the forthcoming 2009 of the long-running tour. Of particular note, the lineup will feature [3OH!3]], Anti-Flag, Bad Religion, Big D and the Kids Table, Bouncing Souls, Chiodos, Flogging Molly, Lights, NOFX, P.O.S., Shooter Jennings, TAT, The Devil Wears Prada, Thrice, Underoath or Westbound Train.

At the same time, Kevin is promising forty minute sets rather than the traditional thirty minute runs. The show will feature less stages – just one main stage. Kevin is hoping to keep ticket prices identical year-over-year. He also takes a moment to comment on the “whiners” who complain about the lineup no being sufficiently punk.

Deftones bassist remains in coma

Deftones have posted an update on the status of their bassist Chi Cheng. Cheng has been in a coma since a car accident in early November of this year:

Chi remains in a coma, and as of this morning there’s been no significant change in his condition. Last week he was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit and transferred to a brain rehabilitation hospital in Northern California. The hospital specializes in the care and management of traumatic and non-trauma related brain injuries with a team of highly skilled therapists, nurses and consultants. He’s in great hands.
