The Ergs to release “Trash Compactor” this Winter

Firestarter Records have announced a number of seven inches including a final seven inch from The Ergs!. The label has confirmed that the EP has been mastered and artwork is currently underway. While a release date has not been specified, they are promising “a bit later in the Winter.”

The seven inch, along with a split with Teenage Bottlerocket and a cover for the Kid Dynamite tribute are among the last releases from the popular pop-punk outfit which split up in September.

My Chemical Romance beginning to write for next album

While members are busy with a number of projects, My Chemical Romance is still planning a follow up to their 2006 album, The Black Parade. Guitarist Frank Iero had this to say in a Rock Sound interview:

Right now, it’s really in the preliminary writing stage, just tossing back and forth ideas. There haven’t been any real serious writing sessions yet. We’re actually talking about getting together again this month, and after that in the new year we’ll really sit down and start working on songs.

Frontman Gerard Way has been working on his comic series which may become a feature film, Iero unveiled his hardcore project Leathermouth, which will release their debut in January.
