There are people in the world who believe the more technically proficient and lyrically profound a band is, the better they are. Then there are those of us who realized long ago that raw power and heartfelt energy (two elements that make up the very soul of punk rock) could more than make up for any amount of guitar lessons or thesaurus thumping. Teenage Bottlerocket is a relative new addition to the latter and we figured it was high time to give the Laramie, Wyoming four-piece a closer inspection.

Green Day done recording?
The always reliable Green Day fansite Green Day Authority is reporting that the band has apparently wrapped up recording in the studio. The site discovered this fact in a somewhat unusual way:
Back in November we learned that the band was recording at the same studio where they recorded American Idiot, Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood, CA – same place where they recorded previous albums as well. Someone decided to go check it out, and found the guys parking spaces reserved, pretty much confirming the band was definitely there recording. A few days ago another visit to the studio showed the parking spaces were no longer reserved, leaving us to assume that recording is done; though, with no official word from the band, we can’t really make any promises.
The follow up to American Idiot is expected this year.

AFI announces first two vocalists, changes producers
AFI has chosen the first two backup vocalists from their contest launched in December. The band is picking five backup vocalists in total for the record.
In related news, the band has apparently replaced their producer, David Bottrill. The band is now working with Joe McGrath (Morrissey, Alkaline Trio, Blink 182).
The new album will be the band’s first since 2006’s Decemberunderground. In the intervening years, band members kept busy with a variety of projects. Bassist Hunter Burgan formed Hunter’s Revenge and briefly rejoined The Force. Jade and Davey released an electronic side project, Blaqk Audio. Jade also remixed the Cure while Davey developed his own fashion line.

Terror parts ways with guitarist
Terror has confirmed the departure of guitarist, Doug Weber. The band has already filled the position with Jordan Posner of No Warning. Frontman Scott Vogel had this to say about the lineup change:
[Doug] pretty much said he was sick of living in a van 90% of each year and that he wanted to live a more normal life. We can’t really blame him for that decision as there are times when I hate this shit too. It’s a real wake up call for anyone that thinks touring is ALL fun or that Terror as a band has it easy in any way.
The only person we had even really talked about or spoke to about stepping up to fill the Big Man’s shoes was our friend Jordan from the now defunct Toronto HC band No Warning. For anyone that knows me or has read interviews with me you’ll know that I love No Warning and really all of Terror does. Jordan has proved to be an amazing song writer and dude so we are excited about this change. We’re going to do some touring with him to make sure he can handle our insanity and he’ll be the new guitarist if all fits how we think it will.
The band released The Damned, The Shamed last year.
