Agoraphobic Nosebleed record new album
Boston, MA’s Agoraphobic Nosebleed have announced a new album titled Agorapocalypse, set for an April 14th release through Relapse Records. This will be the band’s first album with their new vocalist, Kat. The thirteen songs were recorded by the band’s own Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer) at his Visceral Sound studios.
The band also has a slew of splits to be released in 2009 with details and sound clips available on the band’s MySpace page.

Death album to finally see the light
Detroit, MI’s proto-punk band Death will have their album …For The Whole World To See released after being shelved for more than twenty-five years. The group recorded …For The Whole World To See in 1975 with Jim Vitti (Parliament/Funkadelic) and disbanded after failing to land a record contract because they wouldn’t change their name. The album contains both songs that were originally released as a forty-five single as well as the rest of the session, and will be released through Drag City on February 17, 2009.

No Friends (Municipal Waste, NMDS) post new songs
No Friends has just uploaded three unmastered tracks off of a recently recorded full length. No Friends features Tony from Municipal Waste on vocals and members of New Mexican Disaster Squad playing 80’s style hardcore in the vein of Dag Nasty, Descendents and Gorilla Biscuits.

Black President has announced that Lagwagon drummer Dave Raun will be joining them on their upcoming tour with TSOL. Black President’s drummer Roy Mayorga had prior commitments with crustcore punks Amebix.
Black President released their self-titled debut via Cobra Music.

Lewd Acts: Episode 3
Our first series of Dispatches comes to a close today as Tyler Densley from Lewd Acts checks in once again, this time from North Carolina. The band is continuing to tour in support of their recent Split with Hour of the Wolf as well as their upcoming full-length, to be released on Death Wish Inc.
Flatfoot 56 set to record with Street Dogs’ Johnny Rioux
Flatfoot 56 will begin recording their follow up to 2007’s Jungle of the Midwest Sea with Johnny Rioux of the Street Dogs as producer.
The Chicago-based celtic-punk outfit will enter Absolute Sound in Houston, Texas on February 1st to begin the recording process for their new album, due out later this year. Though they are considering offers, they have yet to decide on a label for the album’s release.

Social Distortion, Samhain, Corrosion of Conformity in Guitar Hero: Metallica
Metallica‘s official website has the full list of songs in the forthcoming Guitar Hero: Metallica game. As the name suggests, the game will focus largely on the influential thrash/metal act. The game also features a number of bands that influenced or toured with Metallica over the years. Among those bands are Foo Fighters, Mastodon, Samhain, Slayer, Social Distortion, Suicidal Tendencies, System of a Down, The Sword and Corrosion of Conformity.

Tony Sly debuts solo material, outlines 2009 plans
No Use For A Name frontman Tony Sly has announced his intention to release a solo acoustic record and tour behind it in 2009. Quoth Mr. Sly:
Just a quick update, I’ve pretty much finished writing my album for my solo project and will release it in 2009. Im super stoked on it and hope you will be too! Prior to releasing it, I’ll be doing some west coast shows in March and will post the dates as soon as they become available.
You can check out some demos at Sly’s myspace page. This won’t be Sly’s first foray into solo music, having released a split acoustic record with Joey Cape in 2004. No Use For A Name released The Feel Good Record of the Year in 2008.
