ZENO CLASH 50% OFF FOR 24 HOURS

ACE Team Software’s Indy Source Title Preps For April 21 Launch

March 19, 2008 – ACE Team Software today announced a special pre-purchase promotion for its upcoming action fighter, Zeno Clash. Now through Friday, March 20th at 8 pm GMT, Zeno Clash will be available for 50% off its regular price for those who pre-purchase the game via Steam, a leading platform for the delivery and management of PC games with over 20 million accounts worldwide, as well as retail outlets around the world.

ACE Team’s debut title, Zeno Clash is an action/fighting game set in a punk fantasy world. The game blends first person action with up close and brutal combat made popular in third person console classics. The game’s art style pushes the boundaries of the Source engine features (the same used to create Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, etc) and represent a departure from the visuals seen in any of today’s games.

“ACE Team’s focus on melee and fighting in a first-person game was a somewhat risky move, but having played the demo of Zeno Clash it appears that their work has really paid off.” said Robin Walker, co-creator of Team Fortress and game designer at Valve. “The art in the game is also an incredible part of the experience — they’ve really achieved something innovative with this title. I look forward to playing the full the game, and whatever they create next.”

Zeno Clash features Steamworks integration for copy protection, player statistics and Steam Achievements. “Using Steamworks and Source has allowed us to create a game that has captured the attention of the independent gaming competition judges and soon launch to millions of gamers around the world,” said Andres Bordeu, co-founder at ACE Team. “As independent game developers having tools that help streamline the development costs and resources, such as those offered in Steamworks and the Source, are incredibly important.”

After the initial 24-hour sale, from March 20 through launch on April 21st, the punk-fantasy themed action fighter will be available for pre-purchase via Steam for 25% off the regular price.

Bridge Nine signs Soul Control

Bridge Nine Records have signed Soul Control. The Providence, RI-based band formed in 2005 and released a series of EPs. The band began as more straight forward mid-90’s influenced hardcore, the quartet has emerged with a noisier, looser influence from Amrep bands like early Helmet and Jesus Lizard while still staying rooted in their hardcore roots.

The band added:

Writing has been underway since we got home from tour, we’re hoping to have a lot of material to record in May. Head to the Myspace and come check out those shows with 108 and I Rise. We’ll be on tour a lot this year and will hopefully be hitting as many places as possible. As of now we can confirm that we’ll playing on at least 3 continents.

Set Your Goals complete album

Set Your Goals have posted an update announcing the completion of their new album:

We’re still waiting on a couple guest spots to be finished and a few finishing touches before we send it off to be mixed and mastered but that will be done by the end of next week. It was a long (6 weeks) and difficult journey but we made it.

It’s been 3 years since we recorded our last full length and this record is without a doubt ten times the record “Mutiny!” was for a variety of reasons. It’s faster, less goofy, more complex both musically and lyrically, plus we’ve all gotten way better at our instruments and we had a lot more time in the studio to work on things until we were happy with them.

The band is aiming for a release date of July 21, 2009.
