According to this Rolling Stone report, the legendary Pixies will soon be reissuing their entire catalogue in a deluxe box set titled Minotaur. Due out June 15, 2009, the set will include Come on Pilgrim, Surfer Rosa, Doolittle, Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde.
Jeff Anderson, the founder of A+R (Artist in Residence), who is overseeing the project, says he didn’t want to touch the original master recordings of the Pixies’ albums, so the reissues will feature the music as it was originally released (i.e. not remastered). For $175, the Deluxe Edition gives fans the five albums on a 24k layered CD and a Blu-ray for a total of five discs, plus a DVD of the band’s 1991 Brixton Academy gig (a year before their split) that also includes all their videos.
The Limited Edition costs $450 and includes the entire Deluxe Edition plus all five albums on 180 gram vinyl, a GiclĂ©e print of Oliver’s artwork and a 72-page hardcover book. The Limited Edition comes with a slipcase, the Deluxe in a custom clamshell.

Ars Technica has posted about a new study from Norway found that those who said they download illegal music for “free” bought ten times as much legal music as those who never download music illegally.
Unsurprisingly, the labels disagree with the results with EMI saying:
There is one thing we are not going away, and it is the consumption of music increases, while revenue declines. It can not be explained in any way other than that the illegal downloading is over the legal sale of music.
