Protest the Hero have posted the video for “Spoils” from their 2008 album, Fortress. In ten days, the band will be embarking on a headlining tour of the US.
Slowdance Records shuts down
Slowdance Records is calling it quits. The label posted this on their website:
It’s been a fun 10 years but now it’s time we put the label to bed. But this is not a sad time. We are very proud of our past decade of releasing independent music. Our endless appreciation goes out to all our respective bands and artists. We can never thank you enough. Thank you all. We had a blast.
The label was home to releases from The Velvet Teen, The Intima, The New Trust, Kissing Tigers, The Rescue, The ’89 Cubs and many others.

Jack Terricloth of World/Inferno Friendship Societyhas announced “The Midnight Formals,” a series of events in New York City featuring the the NYC premiere of his intimate evening of punk-noir and song featuring multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Sandra Malak to the Pub for four rounds only.
The event will take place at Joe’s Pub on 425 Lafayette Street in New York on May 1st, 8th, 16th and 22nd.

Fat signs Banner Pilot
The latest signing from Fat Wreck Chords is Minneapolis-based Banner Pilot. The label announced the signing, saying that the band will be recording in their hometown of Minneapolis at Terrarium next week, and will put out the record on Fat come Fall.
The band released Resignation Day last year.

Number 12 vocalist departs
Vocalist Justin Pedrick has left The Number Twelve Looks Like You. The band had this to say:
We’ve seen a number of posts and comments wondering about Justin, and we are sad to announce that Justin is no longer with us due to personal issues related to depression and anxiety. It is unfortunate that he will not be part of what’s to come, but his health comes first and we wish him the best of luck. The #12 has always maintained a positive outlook, one that feeds off the support of our fans.
The new lineup is Jesse Korman (vocals), Alexis Pareja (guitar), Chris Russell-Waker (bass), and Jon Karel (drums). The band is on the road supporting Worse Than Alone.

The Fall sign to Domino Records
Legendary post-punk experimentalists The Fall have signed to Domino Records. The label is home to Animal Collective, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and many others.
The group will be entering the studio imminently, somewhere in the north of England to record an album, their first recordings for the label. There are no firm release plans as yet but towards the end of 2009 is a strong possibility.
