Run for Cover has added Tigers Jaw to their roster.

The label will digitally reissue the band’s self-titled 2008 full-length this week, with another full-length “coming in the sort of distant future.” Don’t forget we’re still streaming Tigers Jaw on their Punknews profile page.

The band has a new 7″ in the works in the meantime, slated for release on a different label.

Hello everybody and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back at the week in Punknews. I’m Adam White and I’ll be your guide through some of the most popular, notable, and otherwise attention getting stories of the past seven days. Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here’s what got the community talking this week…

Now that they’ve left major label Epic Records, the Alkaline Trio intend to return to their roots. The band has announced plans to make a good ol’ fashioned punk rock record again. Hardcore act Have Heart will call it quits after its world tour with Shipwreck A.D. wraps. Their last show will take place this October on National Edge Day. A fascinating interview with Fat Mike of NOFX wrapped up with a discussion of Fat Wreck Chords’ future and their new pricing model. The Bouncing Souls have announced 20th anniversary shows featuring guests like 7 Seconds, Lifetime, None More Black and Tim Barry, along with a television special. Blink-182 further discussed their tour plans and preparation, finally unveiling dates and support from Weezer and Fall Out Boy.

American Steel have posted an update on their next full length for Fat Wreck Chords. The album is completed and will hit stores in late July. Rancid posted the first video from their forthcoming album Let the Dominoes Fall, showcasing the single “Last One to Die.” Atreyu also premiered their video for “Blow.” Details on the upcoming 2009 Joey Ramone Birthday Bash have been announced, with the show celebrating the late Ramones frontman to feature Fishbone, Supersuckers, and Death. The Lawrence Arms are still hinting at that show in October, among much blogging. Finally Rise Against won an award from PETA for being the “best animal Friendly band.”

The 9th annual Joey Ramone Birthday Bash will take place this Tuesday, May the 19th at the Fillmore in New York’s Irving Plaza. The event, which would have been the late Ramones‘ frontman’s 58th birthday, will preview new unreleased Joey Ramone solo recordings for guests. Rough mixes of the tracks, slated for a posthumous album release later this year, are being worked on by a number of producers, including long time Ramones collaborator Ed Stasium.

The night will feature headlining sets by Fishbone and the Supersuckers. Once again the night will be headlined by supergroup The Friends Of Joey featuring Richie Ramone, Handsome Dick Manitoba (of the Dictators), Jean Beauvoir, Ivan Julian (of Richard Hell and The Voidoids), George Tabb, Al Maddy and Joey’s brother Mickey Leigh. The event will also see sets from Death, Rough Francis, Uncle Monk (featuring Tommy Ramone), Bebe Buell, and Tom Clark & The High Action Boys. Musician Tracy Thornton will greet guests with renditions of Ramones tunes on the steel drum, and Sean O’Sullivan’s Punk Pipers will wrap up the night. This year’s MCs will be Matt Pinfield and Peter Aschner.

Joey Ramone passed away in April of 2001 after a seven-year battle with lymphoma.

Relient K have an update on some plans for the year. The band is heading out on a string of spring/early summer tour dates so they can start playing some of their new songs live. Currently, the band is in the final stages of recording their next (and sixth) studio album, tentatively titled, Forget and Not Slow Down. This new one will be released on Mono Vs. Stereo – a label that they started which will run thru Gotee.
