No Friends, the hardcore supergroup formed by Municipal Waste frontman Tony Foresta and 3/4 of New Mexican Disaster Squad, have posted five new songs from their forthcoming self-titled debut, slated for a late July release via No Idea Records.

Check out the mastered versions of “Have You Ever Heard of Aspirations?”, “Never Ending Fight”, “You’ve Got No Friends”, “Set in Your Ways”, and “Black Hearse” at the band’s myspace page.

The band’s only currently scheduled show is August 21 at Alley Katz in Richmond, VA as part of Best Friends Day 8.

Paper and Plastick has announced the signing of Gainesville, FL trio Assassinate The Scientist. The label has already released a two song teaser EP from the band entitled Send More Paramedics that can be purchased here, and a full EP is slated for release very soon. A new song entitled “Blood Room Temp” can be heard at the label’s website.

The band last released Naked Bingo 5 On The Moon in 2008 via Fail Safe Records.

Tim Millar, guitarist of Canada’s Protest the Hero will be competing in the 2009 World Beard and Moustache Championships. The guitarist has been growing his beard for three years and will be at the event this Saturday, May 23 in Anchorage, Alaska..

He will be competing in the “Alaskan Whaler” category, and a film crew will be accompanying Tim as he and Beard Team Canada compete for the first time in this global event. Tim is currently planning to shave the bear when he returns in order to raise money (and hair) for Locks of Love. He is asking for donations to the charity via the Beard Team CAnada.

To celebrate the track “Dear Coach’s Corner” from their new album Supporting Caste, the band decided to team up with us to offer you a fun and unique contest. The premise is simple: using one of three available photos, design an image (using Photoshop, MS Paint, etc) that depicts the members of the band with Don Cherry and/or Ron McLean from the popular Canadian television broadcast, Hockey Night in Canada. Three winners will be personally chosen by the band, with each receiving a copy of Supporting Caste on vinyl, and an autographed posted.

The band also adds that extra credit will be given to any entry that depicts Jord in the nude. Have fun with that one.
