A stream has been launched for the highly anticipated new full length from Shook Ones. The album is their first for Paper and Plastick and is titled The Unquotable A.M.H..
The Jesus Lizard have announced scattered tour dates throughout 2009. The band is supporting the recently detailed reissues of their catalogue via Touch and Go Records due out on September 22nd, 2009 The Chicago-based band, which originally broke up in 1999, has already made a few reunion appearances overseas, and will play its first US show July 14 in Nashville. Shows will feature the band’s original lineup of David Yow, Duane Denison, David Wm. Sims and Mac McNeilly.
As the mastermind behind the Warped Tour, the alternative music festival that will soon celebrate its 15th summer, Kevin Lyman has been battered with criticism from musicians and music-lovers alike. They claim his tour is oversaturated with corporate sponsors and that tickets are overpriced. They complain that musicians on the tour are too popular or that the tour has lost touch with its punk-rock roots. They say, of course, that Lyman has sold out.
In order to see what’s beneath this surface, Lyman’s perspective seems critical, almost mandatory. In an interview with Dane Erbach, he comments the controversial decisions he has made over the past fifteen years and the evolution of his “traveling circus,” alluding to what it is that makes the Warped Tour musically and culturally significant.
Cobra Skulls have provided us with an exclusive first look at the art and title for their upcoming full length. The record is titled American Rubicon and is due out July 14, 2009. It is the follow-up to Draw Muhammad which was released in 2009.
