Frank Turner: “Photosynthesis” (live at Titan House)

Videos of a recent impromptu Frank Turner set have surfaced. The show happened at Titan House – which indeed appears to be an actual residence – in Philadelphia, PA on one of the off days of his tour opening for The Offspring (a tour which Turner is blogging about for NME).

Dr.Frank (Mr.T Experience, King Dork) plans new 7-inch

Dr.Frank, noted author and former frontman of The Mr. T Experience has announced a new 7-inch to coincide with the release of his second novel, Andromeda Klein. The digital version is due out the same day as the book, on August 25, 2009. It will feature two songs, “Andromeda Klein” – a “theme” for the book, and the b-side, “Bethlehem.”

With the exception of the acoustic tracks included with his previous novel, King Dork, the 7-inch represents the first output from Frank in more than five years. The songs were recorded by Justin Perkins at Howl Street Recordings in Milwaukee. Physical vinyl is due out on Jealous Butcher Records from Portland, Oregon on September 15, 2009.

Throwdown complete tracking

Throwdown have announced completion of tracking for their upcoming album, Deathless. The record is the band’s first since 2007’s Venom & Tears and will be their first for E1 Music (formerly Koch Records).

Vocalist Dave Peters had this to say:

We’ve got some rough Deathless tracks in our hands and I’m sorry that I can’t play them for you yet. I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am of this album and it isn’t even MIXED yet. At the risk of sounding parental, I can’t begin to express how proud I am of Mark for the songs he wrote for Deathless.
