North Lincoln (1999-2009)

North Lincoln Grand Rapids, MI outfit North Lincoln are calling it a day. The band is currently touring the UK and will be appearing at The Fest 8 in Gainesville, FL over Halloween weekend. Their final show will take place in their hometown of Grand Rapids on December 19 at Mulligan’s Pub.

Over the years, North Lincoln issued material through Salinas Records, Yo-Yo Records, Kiss of Death and No Idea, who released the band’s final full-length Midwestern Blood earlier this year. That record can be streamed at the band’s Punknews.org page.

The Mighty Mighty BosstonesThe Mighty Mighty Bosstones have revealed the cover art for their upcoming new album Pin Points and Gin Joints. You can get a new track, “Graffiti Worth Reading”, for free through their store. Check out the cover below.

The album currently has no release date, but is expected out sometime later this year. The genre-defining band released Medium Rare in 2007 after a brief hiatus.

Iron Chic (finally) get “Shitty Rambo” EP out the door

Iron Chic, the Long Island supergroup featuring members of Latterman, Small Arms Dealer and more, are set to officially get their Shitty Rambo EP out to the public on November 1st. The four song EP is the followup to their Demo.

The guys at Dead Broke are handling the pressing duties. Make sure to catch the Chic if you’re going to the FEST this year.

Gnarboots (DESA, Shinobu): “Omnivore”

Gnarboots, a new band featuring Adam Davis of DESA on guitar and vocals, Bob Vielma from Shinobu on bass and Aaron Carnes from ancient ska-punk band Flat Planet on drums, recently played their first show in Oakland at the Stork Club. Adam pointed us towards a video of their track “Omnivore” and you can see it below.

The band will soon be releasing a 3 song EP titled Maybe I’ll Catch Fire and will feature a picture of Dante3000 on the back of it.

Popular political punks Anti-Flag have announced a series of shows in London, Berlin, and Vienna that will see the Pittsburg-based act performing Clash covers. The Misfits are set to return with their first new studio material since 2003 with their Land of the Dead 12″ . Blink-182‘s much loved Enema of the State full length is set to receive a vinyl release a decade after the fact via Mightier Than Sword Records. Apple this week countered rumours that had been swirling about their new iTunes LP format. The company has confirmed that the format will be open to both major and indie labels and that the enhanced digital releases would carry not production fee.

Weezer launched a new subscription iTunes pass for their upcoming album, providing a Clash cover as part of the bonus content. Frontman Rivers Cuomo also announced plans to collaborate with Katy Perry. Panic Records has signed a pair of new bands, including Hartford, CT’s Hostage Calm and Syracuse, NY’s Another Breath. The Riot Before released a new acoustic EP for free download. Jon Cougar Concentration Camp plans to cover the entirety of Screeching Weasel‘s My Brain Hurts on their new LP. Tom Waits announced plans to release a two-disc live album in November. Japan and Malaysia will soon witness the MxPx All-Stars featuring MxPx singer/bassist Mike Herrera backed by The Ataris‘ frontman Kris Roe on guitar and the Summer Obsession’s Chris Wilson on drums. Against Me!, Alexisonfire and Billy Talent will tour Canada. No Use For A Name are headed to Indonesia, Malaysia, China, and Japan. Less Than Jake has a number of upcoming shows with bands like the Swellers, Fishbone, and Casualties. NOFX is headed south to Mexico, Panama, and Costa Rica. This week saw video of a Dillinger Four house show in Tempe, AZ. Rancid unveiled their clip for “Up To No Good.” New Found Glory also posted “Don’t Let Her Pull You Down.”

This week we said goodbye to Brendan Mullen (1949-2009), founder of historic Hollywood punk club The Masque.

Members of imadethismistake form Back Stabbath, post new song, announce dates

Providence, RI’s Back Stabbath has posted a new song available on their Myspace page. The band, featuring members of imadethismistake, Yavin Five, and Jesuscentric, has a show lined up in their hometown on November 9 at AS220. Their debut release, a split cassette with Carrboro, NC’s Systems due out December 20 on The Cottage Records.

The song was recorded live at Firehouse 13 in Providence, RI in July of this year.

Gatorface: “Burning Crosses”

GatorfaceGatorface have posted another new song from their upcoming album, Wasted Monuments. You can check out the track “Burning Crosses” at the band’s MySpace page. Wasted Moments is due out on November 10th.

Gatorface features ex-New Mexican Disaster Squad members Richard Minino (Horsebites) and Alex Goldfarb. Both are also pulling double duty in the No Idea super-group No Friends.
