EXCLUSIVE: Blink-182’s ‘Enema of the State’ to receive vinyl release

Blink 182Blink-182‘s wildly popular 1999 full-length, Enema of the State, will be released on vinyl for the first time by independent punk/hardcore label Mightier Than Sword Records (O Pioneers!!!, Ris Paul Ric, Smartbomb). The news was initially mentioned late last night on December 1, but the label will begin taking pre-orders this coming Monday, October 19th.

Enema of the State was originally released in 1999 on MCA and featured some of Blink-182’s biggest hits to date, including “All the Small Things,” “What’s My Age Again?” and “Adam’s Song.” It went on to sell 15 million copies worldwide.

Defiance, Ohio

Defiance, Ohio Distance and preoccupation tend to be the Achilles’ heel for most bands, but folk punk act Defiance, Ohio manages to make it work. Perhaps circumstance prohibit them from the more traditional band experience. Though, given everything the members are involved in, the core requirements are there: they do play shows (sometimes), they do put out records (sporadically), and they do communicate with each other (a lot). In an effort to make up for their lack of touring this year, they are making the trek down to play Fest 8. Upright bassist Ryan recently talked to Matthew Bentel about the challenges popularity incurs, the insatiable desire to stay involved, and the increasing interest in “licensing” their music.

The Reaganomics: “Get Lost, Stay Lost”

The ReaganomicsOur stream today comes from Joliet, IL-based The Reaganomics. The band, , which features all three members of Ryan’s Hope, are getting set to release their debut full length Get Lost, Stay Lost on Red Scare on October 20th. We’ve got 10 songs from the 17 song, 22 minute long full length for you to try.

On October 23rd the band make an apperance at the 4th Annual Red Oktoberfest in Chicago. They’ll perform at the Beat Kitchen with Off with Their Heads, The Copyrights, La Plebe and Smalltown.

Sailor’s Grave releases albums from Stitch Hopeless & The Sea Legs, Burning Streets

The recently resurrected Sailor’s Grave Records has two new records out this week. The first, Is It in Black and White?, comes from Boston’s Burning Streets. The band is influenced by Social Distortion, the Clash and the Bouncing Souls and you can check out some music from the album via the label site.

Also released this week is a new album from punk and Oi! influenced psychobilly band act Stich Hopeless and the Sea Legs. The Arizona-band is for often compared to Demented Are Go!, Frantic Flintstones, Misfits, Hank III and GWAR. They released Gone Bats this week and you can find music here.

Constantines celebrate 10 years with December shows

The Constantines The Constantines have announced two upcoming shows in Toronto to celebrate their 10th anniversary as a band. The five-piece will appear at Lee’s Palace on December 11th and 12th, shows which promise special guests and “many other surprises” with details to revealed soon.

The band was formed in Guelph, Ontario in 1999 by Steve Lambke, Bryan Webb, Doug MacGregor, and Dallas Wehrle and now features keyboardist Will Kidman. Over the past decade they’ve released four full lengths and a handful of EPs and singles on a variety of labels including (the now-defunct) Three Gut Records, Suicide Squeeze, Sub Pop and Arts & Crafts. Their latest was 2008’s Kensington Heights.

Rise Against, AFI, Foo Fighters, Blink-182, Pixies on “Rock Band: iPhone”

The onslaught of rhythm games continues, with EA announcing that Rock Band will be coming to the iPhone later this month. The game will feature 30 Seconds To Mars, AFI, All-American Rejects, Beastie Boys, Blink-182, Blondie, Foo Fighters, Foo Fighters, Pixies, Rise Against, Silversun Pickups and The Presidents of the United States of America among others.

Along with the built-in tracks, the game will be selling additional songs from OK Go, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Lenny Kravitz, Social Distortion, Devo, and more,
