Los Gatos, California venue bans all-ages shows due to creepy dudes
a href=http://www.mercurynews.com/news/ci_13413243?nclick_check=1The San Jose Mercury News/a is reporting that a href=http://www.myspace.com/thevenueinlosgatosThe Venue/a in Los Gatos, California has banned all-ages shows due a complaint about an interaction between a 13-year-old and a man in his 20s br/br/ According to Los Gatos mother Karin Nelson: blockquote The punk and indie bands are bringing their entourages, many of whom are older. I was led to believe the Venue was for middle school and high school kids. A 13-year-old gave her phone number to a 22-year-old and he’s calling at 2 o’clock in the morning wanting them to go out. There was some drunk guy on the phone. It was unbelievable. They’re bringing predators into town and they’re calling and texting these girls. /blockquote p The result is a cancelled concert season. If shows begin at the venue again, people will be carded to ensure they are under 18 and there will be a security guard present during concerts.

The Gaslight Anthem plan food drive for New York City
a href=http://www.punknews.org/bands/gaslightanthemGaslight Anthem/a have announced plans for a food drive at their October 15th show in New York City at Terminal 5. Drummer Benny Horowitz explained: blockquote In an effort to do our small part in a very large struggle, we’ve organized a food donation drive for our October 15th Terminal 5 show in New York City. The Food Bank of New York City has been nice enough to drop donation boxes at the venue and deliver them accordingly after. Whatever non-perishable food you can bring to this show will make a substantial difference. br/Br/ For people outside the NYC area who would like to help, there is a donation page set-up through FoodBankNYC to raise funds for the same cause that can be found here: It’s not asking a lot to carry a few cans to the show or donate anything via the website…really a small amount actually makes a difference, unlike Presidential elections. /blockquote p You can find more details a href=http://bulletins.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bulletin.readauthorID=34699066messageID=65675263here/a.

Over the last few months we’ve been writing a ton of new stuff and currently have about ten new songs finished plus a bunch more in various stages. We’re all really excited about how it’s going. So far, so good! The bottom line for us is to have fun, write music, and play a few shows here and there.
