Roger from Rehasher Responds to Recent Opinions/Comments About Record Sales

Rehasher‘s Roger Manganelli has posted an update to respond to some of the comments posted in the wake of his comments about piracy earlier this week. Roger explained his feelings:

I’m not complaining about those numbers. It’s obvious that CD’s are a dead format, and I DO FEEL LUCKY that 60 people drove to a store and shelled out real dollars for a chunk of plastic. Rehasher has ZERO promo or marketing so any sales is nothing short of a miracle. I was curious though, what numbers would fans guess? As you can see, most guesses were well above 60, and I feel like there is an illusion that a band like Rehasher sells tons of records, and that somehow justifies downloading. It’s not even about Rehasher, I just wanted to put this info out there and see where this kind of discussion would lead. If you downloaded or not, that is up to you. We all have our point of view.

The article goes on to suggest that Owls will also be reuniting as well, though under a different name due to a dispute with their old label. Cap’n Jazz’s Analphabetapolothology was released in 1998 and compiled the band’s discography.
