Greenland is Melting: “No More Sorry Songs” (Bathroom Tapes)

Greenland is Melting Thunderclapsupergenius has uploaded the third episode of the Paper and Plastick bathroom tapes, this one featuring recent label signing Greenland is Melting performing “No More Sorry Songs”.

The song comes from the Gainesville, FL band’s new full-length Our Hearts Are Gold, Our Grass Is Blue, which was recently released for free digital download. A vinyl release is expected sometime in 2010.

Jay Malinowski (Bedouin Soundclash) to release solo debut in February

Jay Malinowski The first realease for Bedouin Soundclash‘s new Pirates Blend label will be the debut full length release from frontman Jay Malinowski. The 11 song set will be titled Bright Lights & Bruises and should arrive on February 16th. Seven songs from the release can be streamed from his MySpace page. A video for the song “There’s A Light” will be shot in January in Iceland with director Michael Maxxis (Moneen, The Parlor Mob).

Bedouin Soundclash’s next proper full length and follow up to Street Gospels won’t arrive until the summer of 2010. In the mean time a remix album featuring reworkings of the band’s tracks by Bad Brains, King Britt, K-OS, Pigeon John and Nostalgia 77 is due in March through Pirates Blend. The band has performed recently with Sekou Lumumba filling in for recently departed drummer Pat Pengelly.

O Pioneers!!! roll van, everyone’s ok

Last night O Pioneers!!! were involved in a van crash on the I-80. The band documented their misadventure through Twitter, posting several pictures of the wreck on Eric Solomon’s account. While several members of the band were sent to hospital for concussions the group’s latest update confirmed “Bumps and bruises but we all walked away, and the only thing broken was our van.”

O Pioneers!!! most recent full length was Neon Creeps, released earlier this year.

The Artery Foundation announces imprint on Razor & Tie, first releases

Management company The Artery Foundation, who helped cultivate The Devil Wears Prada, Dance Gavin Dance, Attack Attack!, and others, have announced their own imprint record label through Razor & Tie. Artery Foundation founder had this to say:

We believe in developing a band from the ground up, just like we have with all of the bands we manage. What more of a perfect situation if we can put out records as well and have a platform for the new bands that we discover.

Razor & Tie most recently signed Norma Jean, and is also well known for the Kidz Bop series, including Kidz Bop 4. The new label announced that they would be releasing albums from Chelsea Grin and Bury Tomorrow as their first signings in early 2010.

Sebastien Grainger and Josh Reichmann form Bad Tits

Former Death From Above 1979 drummer/vocalist Sebastien Grainger and Josh Reichmann, formerly of Toronto garage-rock act Tangiers, have joined forces in a new project dubbed Bad Tits. The band has two songs online now, the instrumental “Reincarnate Yourself” and the synth-punk track “No Skin.” Both can be found over at MySpace.

Sebastien Grainger released his debut solo album with backing band The Mountains last year. Reichmann recently released the debut from his new act the Josh Reichmann Oracle Band.
