John Lydon regrets bringing Sid Vicious into the Sex Pistols

Sex Pistols‘ John Lydon spoke to The Independent about his regrets with regards to Sid Vicious:

Poor Sid. Once you start on that heroin trail of self pity, it’s gone. I’m sorry, God, for the day I brought Sid into the band. He felt so isolated, poor old Sid, because he wasn’t the sharpest knife on the block. The best aspect of his character, which was his humour, just vanished the day he joined the Pistols.

Bad Religion to enter the studio in April

Bad Religion In a recent Q&A session with Bad Religion fan community The Bad Religion Page bassist Jay Bentley revealed some of the band’s recording plans. The band looks to enter the studio in late April of 2010 to record the follow up to 2007’s New Maps of Hell. Jay commented:

April 26th, 2010 is the date i have, so sometime around there. Just a few songs are written right now, it feels like the songwriting is picking up momentum. Baker said he was going to drive up to graffins, brooks and i are going to do some demos with brett, so we have a pretty good jump.

Earlier this week Brett Gurewitz confirmed to a fan via Twitter that the record would arrive in the fall of 2010.

Green Day: Rock Band trailer

A trailer has been released for Rock Band: Green Day. Though official confirmation came only this past weekend, the game has been a poorly guarded secret since at least June. It’s worth noting that while the producers of Guitar Hero, Activision, have released numerous band-branded games from Aerosmith, AC/DC, Van Halen and Metallica, the Rock Band makers have only done a single band specific title, the acclaimed game from The Beatles.

A MTV article shed some light on the title:

The game will feature the likenesses of Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool and allow fans to play songs from the group’s catalog, visit venues and view artwork that is key to their history. With a fully exportable track list that will allow users to play the songs in “Rock Band” and “Rock Band 2” on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3, the game will be available around the world for the 360, PlayStation3 and Wii next year.

A trailer featuring the title track from American Idiot introduced by the real Green Day and performed by Green Day avatars is available.
