Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins has launched an as-yet-unnamed label with Pumpkins producer Kerry “Studio Dog” Brown, and one of the artists tapped to release material through the label is legendary LA punks The Germs. According to Brown, the label will be releasing two songs that late frontman Darby Crash wrote with guitarist Pat Smear in 1980. Actor Shane West, who portrayed Crash in the Germs biopic What We Do is Secret, will be handling vocal duties for the songs.

After their upcoming tour of Canada, Leatherface will play three dates in the northeast alongside now labelmates Bridge and Tunnel. The influential UK band is expected to release a new full-length through No Idea Records sometime in 2010, while Bridge and Tunnel released the Loss Leaders 7″ in 2009.

An extended trailer for Lemmy: The Movie has been released.

The documentary centers around the public and private life of 64 year-old Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister and is slated to premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival, which begins on March 12 and runs through March 16 in Austin, TX (the film will also be screened during the SXSW Music Festival from March 17-20). Bamboozle will be happening on May 1-2 at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
