Pavement announces ‘Quarantine the Past’

Pavement Seminal and recently reunited act Pavement has announced details surrounding their upcoming best-of collection. Quarantine the Past is slated for a March 9, 2010 release through Matador Records and will compile material from 1989-1999, with the label adding that the release will contain songs “from the scratchy and mysterious sounds of their early vinyl-only releases to the rich, multilayered warmth of their final recordings. Although the compilation does not include any unreleased material, it definitely digs deeper than the hits.” Check out the cover art here. Matador also plans to reissue all of the band’s entire label catalogue on vinyl on the same day.

Matador is also holding a “Guess the Track Listing” contest, with prizes including concert tickets, special vinyl pressings and more. More info on that can be found here.
