Rocky Votolato and Chad Price will be releasing a split together in March on Suburban Home Records. The record will feature a track from Chad Price’s most recent album, Smile Sweet Face. Rocky contributed the original and exclusive track, “Transparent” to round out the split 7″. Both are also planning on covering each other’s material, with Rocky covering the Drag the River track, “Best & Worst”, and Chad recording a cover of the Rocky Votolato track, “Silver Trees” from “The Brag and Cuss”.

The 7″ will be pressed in an edition of 1,000 copies, 500 on transparent blue and all other pressings will be on black vinyl, starting with 500 on black. The 7″ will be bundled with an mp3 coupon. It is due out March 13, 2010.

Buffalo, NY’s Failures’ Union have announced a spring tour of the UK. Joining them will be Cardiff’s Bedford Falls.

The two bands will be releasing a split 7″ in time for the tour, with each band contributing one original and one cover of the other band. In other vinyl news, Failures’ Union has launched a Kickstarter page to raise money to press their 2007 full-length, Sinker, on vinyl. That page can be found here.

The band’s new full-length for Paper and Plastick, In What Way, is currently streaming at their Punknews.org page.

Screeching Weasel and Riverdales have announced separate shows in Toronto, Ontario in May of this year. The first show, May 14, 2010 at the Phoenix, will feature support from The Visitors from Ottawa and The Roman Line. The following night, the Riverdales will perform at the Mod Club with a show featuring The Creeps and The Varsity Weirdos.

Tickets go on sale Thursday January 28, 2010 via Collective Concerts.

The White Stripes have set a release date and posted some previews for their upcoming box set, Under Great White Northern Lights. Due out March 16, 2010, it features a DVD of their 10th anniversary performance, a 92-minute documentary, a double LP/CD of 16 live track, an exclusive 7-inch, a silkscreened print and a 200 page hardcover book of photography.

The band previously released the Under Blackpool Lights DVD in 2004.
