The New Pornographers to release “Together” on May 4th

The New Pornographers Matador Records has announced that the fifth full length from The New Pornographers, entitled Together, is set for release on May 4th. The album was produced by the band and Phil Palazzolo and recorded in Vancouver, Brooklyn, Woodstock, and Catskill, NY. The album features 9 new songs by A.C. Newman and three by Destroyer‘s Dan Bejar. The album will feature the group’s full line up of Newman and Bejar with John Collins, Neko Case, Kurt Dahle, Kathryn Calder, Todd Fancey and Blaine Thurier along with several guests. The additional musicians include Annie Clark (St. Vincent), Zach Condon (Beirut), Will Sheff (Okkervil River), and the Dap-Kings Horns.

KISS Rings Closing Bell At New York Stock Exchange; Video Available

Legendary rock band KISS and “I’m A Pepper” ad icon David Naughton teamed up with Dr Pepper Snapple Group CEO Larry Young earlier today (Monday, January 25) to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange in celebration of the 125th anniversary of Dr Pepper, America’s oldest major soft drink.

Jawbreaker detail ‘Unfun’ reissue

Jawbreaker Jawbreaker have announced a reissue of their 1990 debut full-length, Unfun. Slated for a March 30, 2010 release through Blackball Records, the record has been remastered from the original analog tapes by John Golden. The CD and digital download will include the band’s 1989 EP Whack & Blite as well as the 7″ mix of “Busy.” Also included will be a 24 page booklet and the Whack & Blite insert reproduced in its entirety.

No real details were given on the vinyl, other than the fact that it will be available (and for the first time since 1992).
