Neil Hennessy (The Lawrence Arms, The Falcon, Smoking Popes) talks about new project

Chicago, IL drummer extraordinaire Neil Hennessy (The Lawrence Arms/The Falcon/Smoking Popes) has unveiled a new project dubbed Council Trail. Hennessy explained:

“This one will be very different from all of the bands I’ve spent time with thus far. Mainly because I’m writing all of the material myself and will be singing and playing guitar! There are 15 songs written between ’02-’09 already recorded that will be released in a variety of ways this coming year and I’ve written the majority of the first full length that will be recorded by the fall. I’ve played most everything on the first round of recordings, but that will change as a band gets created. I’m hoping to have a couple of songs up on this page within the month, and then a proper release sometime in the early spring!”

A MySpace page for the band is located here, though there’s no music posted there as of yet.

Comadre announces 2010 plans

Comadre Bay Area punk band Comadre have made some announcements for 2010. First, they’ll be releasing a 3-way split with Punch and Glasses. All bands are currently recording and expect a release around May/June of 2010, by several yet-to-be-named labels worldwide. For Comadre, this release will follow up 2009’s A Wolf Ticket.

After the release of the split Comadre and Punch are planning a summer tour of the U.K., with Glasses on select dates. Comadre will then bring Glasses back to the U.S. for a West coast tour in late July/early August, with Punch performing on select dates. The band promises updates on the split and dates for the whole incestuous tour in the coming weeks.
