Sublime members settle lawsuit; prepare to hit the road

Sublime Orange County’s OC Weekly is reporting that the surviving members of Sublime have settled a lawsuit with the family of deceased founding member and singer Bradley Nowell over the use of the band’s name, which was trademarked by Nowell. As a compromise, the band will be touring under the name Sublime With Rome, in reference to the name of new singer/guitarist Rome Ramirez.

Thom Yorke, Melvins and others to re-work Liars’ new album

LiarsNew York’s Liars are getting set to release their new album, Sisterworld on March 8. In an interesting twist, they will be including a bonus CD with the release, that sees tracks from the album reworked from the likes of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Melvins, TV On The Radio, Suicide, Deerhunter, and more.

The band last released their self titled album in 2007, and It Fit When I Was a Kid in 2006.

Hot Chip announce (not so) secret show in NYC tomorrow

Hot Chip will be playing a “Secret” free show tomorrow (February 5) at the Highline Ballroom in New York City. The show is an installment of the ongoing series from MySpace Music’s Secret Shows and will be streamed live through MySpace. For those that can’t make it, they’ll also bo playing New York’s Music Hall of Williamsburg the following evening.

The British electro-poppers released their fourth studio album, One Night Stand through EMI on Tuesday. They will be touring Europe and the United States through the Winter and Spring.
