Tours: Spring Heeled Jack USA to play reunion show on May 7

It’s been confirmed that Spring Heeled Jack USA will be playing their recently announced reunion show on May 7th at Toad’s Place in New Haven, CT. Tickets went on sale today at noon and can be purchased through the venue.

The band featured future members of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Pilfers and other notable acts of the late 90s third wave ska movement. Spring Heeled Jack called it quits in 2000. They were last together for a reunion show in 2002 to raise money for a scholarship fund in the name of their late drummer Dave Karcich.

Daughters releases “The First Supper” digital single

Daughters Providence, RI’s Daughters have released “The First Supper” as a digital single. The song comes from the band’s upcoming self-titled full-length, slated for a March 9, 2010 release. Once out, it’ll be the band’s first new material since 2006’s Hell Songs.

Smalltown / Statues (Europe)

Smalltown Sweden’s Smalltown and Sudbury, ON’s Statues will be touring Europe together in the spring.

Both bands will be touring in support of recent material issued through Deranged Records, with Smalltown releasing Implosion last year and Statues’ new full-length Holiday Cops expected out in time for this tour. Smalltown also recently released a 10″ entitled Read Between the Lines through Pirates Press Records and are part of the upcoming Swingin’ Utters tribute compiled by Red Scare, A Juvenile Tribute to Swingin’ Utters.

Street Dogs recording new album

Street Dogs have announced that they have begun recording their next album. The band recently entered The Blasting Room in Ft. Collins, CO with bassist Johnny Rioux and Rick Barton (ex-Dropkick Murphys) producing. A late summer/early autumn release is anticipated.

Rabble Rousing will be Street Dogs’ fifth full-length overall and second for Hellcat Records, following 2008’s State of Grace.
