Leatherface posts ‘The Stormy Petrel’ promo video
Leatherface has posted a ‘promo video’ featuring clips of songs from their upcoming full-length. The Stormy Petrel is slated for a February 23, 2010 release through No Idea Records in North America and on the band’s own Big Ugly Fish Recordings in their native UK. This will be the band’s first new studio album since 2004’s Dog Disco, and they’ve already planned a good amount of touring on this side of the pond; the band will also be releasing a split 7″ with Yesterday’s Ring in time for their tour together.

Chiodos reveals new singer
Supjustin is reporting that Brandon Bolmer of Yesterdays Rising has been tapped as the new lead singer for Chiodos, replacing Craig Owens who parted ways with the band last September.
Bolmer’s first show with the band will be at Bamboozle California on March 27 in Anaheim.

Death to False Hope Records updates
Digital label Death to False Hope Records has sent us an update.
- The label has added two new bands to its rapidly growing roster: San Francisco’s The Sweet Revenge and Ohio’s Mixtapes.
- The label will also be teaming up with Intervention Records to host digital copies of their 7″ releases, with upcoming releases from Young Generals, Memoirs and Landmines, T.R.Y. and Kevin Seconds planned.
Paul Weller (ex-The Jam) readies new LP
Paul Weller, former frontman of seminal UK outfit The Jam, has detailed his upcoming tenth solo LP. The record is titled Wake Up the Nation and is due out April 5, 2010 through Island Records in the UK. Once out, it’ll follow up 2008’s 22 Dreams.
The record will feature a couple of notable collaborations; two of the tracks will feature former Jam bandmate Bruce Foxton, and Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine will also be involved, though his role is unclear at this point.
