Snapcase adds Buffalo show to reunion plans

Snapcase According the band’s Facebook page, influential Buffalo, NY hardcore outfit Snapcase have added a hometown show to their recently announced reunion plans, which before today only included a handful of shows in Europe. The band will be performing on May 8 at Town Ballroom alongside Sick Of It All and others. More information is expected soon.

The band was considered at the forefront of the 90s hardcore movement, largely spearheaded to popularity by Victory Records. They called it quits in 2005, with their final studio album being 2002’s End Transmission.

The Hold Steady: “Hurricane J”

The Hold Steady Pitchfork is hosting a stream of a new track from The Hold Steady. “Hurricane J” comes from the band’s upcoming full-length, Heaven Is Whenever, due out May 4, 2010 in North America and May 3 in Europe. Once out, it’ll follow up 2008’s Stay Positive. The band will embark on a two week tour next month in support of the album.

Tours: Teenage Bottlerocket / Banner Pilot (west coast)

Fat Wreck Chords labelmates Teenage Bottlerocket and Banner Pilot will be playing five west coast gigs together in July.

Both bands continue to support 2009 releases, with both Teenage Bottlerocket releasing They Came from the Shadows and Banner Pilot dropping Collapser last September. Prior to these dates, TBR will be supporting NOFX and Tony Sly on dates around North America. Banner Pilot, on the other hand, will be playing shows in Europe around that time.

Against Me!, F*cked Up, Joe Strummer & the Mesacleros highlight Record Store Day releases

Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros The list of exclusive releases for this year’s Record Store Day has been unveiled. Notable releases slated for the Saturday, April 17 celebration of the indie record store include a new 7″ from Against Me! featuring an acoustic cut of “I Was A Teenage Anarchist,” a Fucked Up Daytrotter Sessions 7″, as well as two full-lengths from Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, 2001’s Global A Go-Go and 2003’s Streetcore, seeing a vinyl release for the first time.
