The Hold Steady reveal ‘Heaven is Whenever’ cover art
The Hold Steady have revealed the cover art for their upcoming full-length, Heaven is Whenever. Due out on May 3 via Rough Trade in the UK and May 4, 2010 via Vagrant Records in North America, it’ll be the band’s first studio album since 2008’s Stay Positive. Check out the cover at the record’s release page.
The band will be doing two weeks of American dates next month.

Public Image Ltd.’s tour to fund new album
In an interview with Billboard, John Lydon of Public Image Limited revealed that the band’s upcoming North American gigs will help fund the recording of a new album:
“We’ve got no backing — no recording company, no sponsors, nothing like that. The only way we can make money is the touring, and then we can make a new album. It’s sort of like the old days of PiL, when the Pistols went kaput; I had to scrimp and scrape out of my own pocket. Not much has changed.”
The band will kick off the tour next month with a performance at Coachella.

Hot Hot Heat inks with Dangerbird
This summer, Dangerbird Records will release Future Breeds, the fourth full-length from Vancouver, BC’s Hot Hot Heat. This marks the end of the band’s relationship with Warner Music Group, which released the band’s previous two albums, 2007’s Happiness Ltd. and 2005’s Elevator.
