Tours: Sublime with Rome (US)

Sublime With Rome Sublime With Rome, the new incarnation of popular ska-punk / dub / alt-rock act Sublime, will hit the road in April. The three piece will play with bands like The Dirty Heads and Del Mar.

The band features the founding Sublime rhythm section of drummer Bud Gaugh and bassist Eric Wilson with new singer-guitarist Rome Ramirez. They assumed the slightly modified name after settling a lawsuit with the family of deceased founding member and singer Bradley Nowell over its use. This will be Gaugh and Wilson’s first tour under the name Sublime (“With Rome” or otherwise) in nearly 14 years.

Tom Gabel acknowledges ‘White Crosses’ leak, provides lyrics

Posting from a tour stop in Lethbridge, Alberta, Against Me! frontman Tom Gabel acknowledged the leak of the band’s upcoming full length White Crosses. Claiming “No drama” he’s offered up the full lyrics for the album on his blog for those that have heard it. The album is tentatively slated for an early June release. It follows up 2007’s major label debut New Wave. It’ll also be the band’s first album with new drummer George Rebelo of Hot Water Music fame.

Against Me! is currently on tour in Canada with Alexisonfire and Billy Talent.

The Casualties to play 20 year anniversary show

The Casualties New York street punks The Casualties have announced their 20th anniversary show. The gig will take place on March 28th in Manhattan at Santo’s Party House. The group will share the stage with The Unseen, Violent Society, and Guilt Trip at the event.

In twenty years the Casualties have put out 8 studio albums, 3 EPs, and 3 live albums. Their most recent was 2009’s We Are All We Have. This April the band will head south to Mexico and South America for a tour.

Gob recording new album

Langley, BC’s Gob is recording a new full length. The band has started to post images and updates from the studio online via their new Twitter account. No release date has been announced for the record as this time. The new record will follow up 2007’s Aquarius released Muertos Vivos.

In recent months Tom Thacker and Theo Goutzinakis produced the debut full length from Vancouver alternative rock band Floodlight. Thacker has also been serving as lead guitarist in Sum 41.
